Customer Service 3

I have written previously (http://spriggsblog.blogspot.ca/search?q=maple+leaf) about customer service. The utter lack of it is the reason i generally abjure -- as much as possible -- major corporations and will always, whenever possible, patronise independent dealers for virtually everything.

(Okay, this doesn't apply to my pub, Kelsey's, which is owned by a major corporation, but i go there because i have friends who work there and the only reason i drink there is to see them.)

Anyway.  In the earlier post i was moaning and groaning because i had received lousy service, had complained about it, and been utterly ignored.

A few weeks ago, i picked up a 12-pack of Laker Red at the beer store (it tastes the same as Rickard's Red, which is what i drink at the pub, but is a bit cheaper -- and we must economise in these tough times). On the way home, however, the handle broke, and the box fell to the ground and at least half of the bottles broke. Shock! Horror! I was aghast!

I emailed the brewery, and explained what had happened and suggested that a partial refund would be a nice gesture, and, guess what? I received a reply immediately, and a voucher for twelve more bottles!

So, well done you independent brewery (www.brickbeer.com). Credit where credit is due. You have my loyalty.
