KSHE Klassics Show, May 20th, 2018

Quotation du jour ~ Martin Amis: But before we face experience, that miserable enemy, let us have some more innocence, just for a while

I was listening from North Bergen, New Jersey this morning – somewhere i've never been before. It's the birthplace of Carlos Alomar, who probably appears on KSHE occasionally as he was a member of David Bowie's band for a long time.

As my regular reader will have noticed, there was no blog post last Sunday. It was Mother's Day – the busiest day of the year in my business – and i was unable to listen because i was at work. In fairness to my manglement team [managers], they did ask me if i wanted to work. I said, no, but that i would if i had to. Guess i had to. Not being able to listen to the program pretty much ruined my week. I should have replied "Nooooo!!!!"

As for this morning's show – quite a few songs that i love, only one song that i couldn't stand (that would be the REO Speedwagon), and everything in between those extremes was eminently listenable. It's the best radio show that i'm aware of, forcertain forsure.

KSHE Klassics Show, May 6th, 2018

Quotation du jour ~ Ezra Pound: A classic is classic not because it conforms to certain structural rules, or fits certain definitions (of which its author had quite probably never heard). It is classic because of a certain eternal and irrepressible freshness. [yes, i know he was talking about literature, but i thought it was apt]

I was listening from Clifton, New Jersey again this morning. It's the birthplace of Vera Farmiga, which gives me an excuse to use a photo of the gorgeous woman as my image of the week (below).

I'm sorry to say that there was one number today that i couldn't identify – an instrumental piece. It came after the UFO song. Usually KSHE will post the title in a couple of places on their website, but i couldn't find it (their new site is under construction since their move from Union Station to Creve Coeur, it seems) and, as it was an instrumental, i couldn't Google (or, more accurately, DuckDuckGo) the lyrics – which i confess i have had to do occasionally. It wasn't that great a piece of music, anyway.

It was a great show over all, though. Just look at that playlist! Some of my favourite artists and quite a few songs that i love.

Oh, and incidentally, there won't be a post next Sunday. It's Mother's Day and i have to work. The manager asked me if i wanted to work and i said, not really, but that i would if i had to (it's the busiest day of the year in my biz). Guess i have to.... Basically, next week is already ruined for me but i shall return.
