KSHE KLASSICS SHOW, Nov. 29th, 2020

[As you may or may not know, i live in Canada, and for some reason KSHE doesn't stream their audio to here; i have to connect via a VPN, to spoof an American address. This week, according to https://whatismyipaddress.com/ i was listening from North Bergen, New Jersey once again.]

Quotation Of The Week ~ David Gilmour: I think myself that, rather like books, music is meant to enter into the brain, well via your ears rather than your eyes but, it's - I think a lot more should be left to the imagination.

I'm sorry, but i really had to struggle not to give this week's instalment a relatively poor grade of "B-." There was just too much music that was "ok but ordinary" and a couple of songs that were embarrassingly bad: those by Man (a group whose music i've enjoyed in the past) and Loverboy (whose music i have never liked). I also had an excruciating moment when KSHE announced that they were playing a song by Aerosmith; fortunately for me, they played Russ Ballard instead. It must have been a programming glitch. That's often a problem when radio shows are pre-recorded, i believe.

I decided to be generous, though, and grade it "B+" 'cause i'm such a nice person, loved by young and old alike. Besides, there were some really great numbers today, by Yes, Pink Floyd (all 23+ minutes of Echoes), The Records and 10 c.c. Incidentally, that latter track is one of the reasons i became a devoted fan of KSHE, all those years ago. Quite possibly the very first time i tuned in, or i should say, clicked "play," they aired it as part of their regular programming and i knew i'd found something special. (Nowadays, of course, they just play the same old crap every other rock station plays -- except on Sunday mornings!)

I did have one technical problem with my local machine: my Internet connection went down half way through the Rush song and returned half way through the number by Santana. Considering that i'm not wild about either of those, it wasn't a major disaster, just annoying.

And remember, it's still not to late to order your very own KSHE Ugly Christmas Sweater! (The dashingly handsome model is Uman, our host.)
