KSHE Klassics, March 4th, 2018

Quotation du jour ~ Dan Fogelberg: Off in the nether lands/I heard a sound/Like the beating of heavenly wings/And deep in my brain/I can hear a refrain/Of my soul as she rises and sings/Anthems to glory and/Anthems to love and/Hymns filled with early delight/Like the songs that the darkness/Composes to worship the light.

Now this is just plain weird. Remember that last week i was listening from Clifton, New Jersey? This week, according to https://whatismyipaddress.com/ i was listening from Manila in The Philippines! I thought that KSHE didn't stream their audio to anywhere outside the USA, but obviously not. Maybe just not to Canada? Odd, too, that the targeted ads weren't in Tagalog. They were the usual ones for America-wide corporations: Walgreen's, ABC-TV, The Home Depot, etc.

It was a good show, too, if maybe not absolutely oh-wow-holy-shit amazing as it can be. Well, it kicked off with a Rorysong, and that's always a good sign. (I wonder if it was a nod towards the fact that it would have been Rory's 70th birthday on Friday? I should Tweet to John (Ulett, the host) and ask.

It was also the first Klassics Show since KSHE's new owners, Hubbard Radio, took over. They have promised not to mess with the station's format. So far, i'm happy. Normally i hate corporate radio – corporate everything, really, but Hubbard is a small Minnesota outfit and i can live with that. It was a seamless listening experience, too – no connection failures at all, no system crashes.

Oh, look, there's the birthday boy:
