KSHE KLASSICS SHOW, July 21st, 2019

Quotation Of The Week ~ Groucho Marx: Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing it incorrectly and applying the wrong remedies.

[As you may or may not know, i live in Canada, and for some reason KSHE doesn't stream their audio to here; i have to connect via a VPN, to spoof a non-Canadian address. This week, according to https://whatismyipaddress.com/ , i was listening from Clifton, New Jersey again.]

The Klassics show's host, John Ulett, along with Mark Klose (a jock at the station on Fridays and Saturdays and member of the St Louis Radio Hall Of Fame) (and an old friend of John's) were broadcasting live from the Music Record Shop at 3116 Locust St in downtown St Louis today, an event they called the KSHE Vinyl Tap https://www.kshe95.com/event/kshe-vinyl-tap/ It was a big sale of vinyl albums from KSHE's basement (they must have all been digitised by now) and apparently it's an excellent used record store (i've never been there). KSHE was broadcasting from there all day, and the co-hosts spent a lot of time reminiscing about the good old days of pops and crackles.

Unfortunately, as interesting (and funny!) as the chats were, it meant that we heard even less music than usual. Kind of a bummer, really, as, based on what was played, this instalment definitely merits a grade of A. Oh, sure, there were some mediocre songs, and i'm on record as stating that the voices of David Surkamp and Dennis DeYoung effect me like fingernails on a blackboard, but i'm in a good mood today, i shall overlook those atrocities.

It's difficult for me to choose a highlight, but if pressed, i'd probably choose “Maggie's Farm.” A great song and when was the last time you heard it on the radio? As Mark Klose said at one point, this is the best radio show anywhere.
