KSHE KLASSICS SHOW, November 24th, 2019

Quotation Of The Week ~ Fran Lebowitz: There are two kinds of music – good music and bad music. Good music is music that i want to hear. Bad music is music that i don't want to hear.

[As you may or may not know, i live in Canada, and for some reason KSHE doesn't stream their audio to here; i have to connect via a VPN, to spoof a non-Canadian address. This week, according to https://whatismyipaddress.com/ i was listening from Santa Clara, California, in the heart of Silicon Valley.]

I'm sorry to say it but i can't give a grade higher than B+ to this week's program, in spite of the inclusion of one of my all-time favourite songs, “Sweet Baby James” (a song that literally helped save my life) (long story). “Like A Rolling Stone” is a work of genius – too bad the audio stream failed half way through but never mind, i'll listen to the album later. And, oh, for sure there was a fair bit of music this morning that i loved. ELP, George Harrison of course, Neil Young, The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac leap to mind. But there was also far too much that was just ordinary. OK music, but nothing special.

Some of the problems i had with the show: all 15 minutes (!) of the Midnight Sun track were extremely tedious and the Joe Perry Project's song was so bad it was almost painful to listen to (yes, even worse than Ted Nugent!). And two tracks by Journey?? I actually do like some of Journey's schtuff – i have their Greatest Hits album and every song on it is terrific. But i don't think i have ever heard anything else by them that i liked.

It may just have been my imagination, but there seemed to be more ads this week than normal, too. I don't mind hearing the St Louis ads – they add the local colour – but so many, and yet another week with no ad from Bart Inman.... Sad.

Anyway, here's a pic of Santa Clara and the playlist:
